Michael Lawrence Lewis

U.S. Veteran

Michael Lawrence Lewis died June 26, 2012 in his home surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born July 26, 1957 in Anaconda, MT and as he grew up lived in California,

Washington State and settled down in Idaho. Mike graduated High School in 1976 in Darrington, WA and then served a term in the US Army from 1979 to 1982 and was stationed in Germany. After his tour of duty, began training and apprenticeship to become a Plumber and Pipefitter like his Dad and Grandfather before him. He was a proud member of the Plumber and Pipefitters Union right up to his death. He became a parishioner of Rocky Mountain Ministries church and was recently baptized there.

Mike married Sandra Christensen July 27, 1991 and "Grandpa Mike" spent much time doing fun and cool things with his grandkids. Mike loved the water, fishing, boating, and camping he was also an inventor and great storyteller. He did this when time allowed, Mike was a hard working man and not one to just take it easy much, he also was a man that would "be there" to help out whenever needed, even when you didn’t ask and that made him all the more special.

Mike had the greatest sense of humor and a glorious smile to go with it. He was our Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Friend his having to leave us all too soon is heartbreaking but we can hardly wait to see what he’s got cooked up when we all meet up again. He is survived by his wife Sandy; step-kids Stephanie and Alan Stoddard, Jeremy and Tianna Hansen, Josh and Amber Hansen which he loved as his own; much loved grandkids Taylor and Rylee, Kaybri, Chase and Bailey; his parents Larry and Sherlin Lewis; mother-in-law Audrey Richardson; brother Robert (Sheila) Lewis; sisters Becky (Wayne) Nelson and Maggie Lewis; best friend Jim McMahan. Love and safe journey Mike! There will be a Memorial Service held by his AA friends and fellow church parishioners on Monday July 2, 2012 at 5:30 pm at the Rocky Mountain Ministries 845 Hyde Ave in Pocatello. Arrangments are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel
